This notice applies to residents of California and of other US states that give consumers a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information, or of targeted advertising. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Does MESHKI sell my personal information?

MESHKI does not sell your personal information for money. We have never exchanged customer lists, contact details or purchase histories for payment.

However, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), defines “sell” and “share” broadly. Those definitions cover the disclosure of personal information to advertising, analytics and social media partners for cross-context behavioural advertising, even where no money changes hands. Like most online retailers, MESHKI uses advertising and analytics technologies of that kind on our website and mobile apps.

We therefore treat that activity as a “sale” or “share” under the CCPA, and as “targeted advertising” under comparable laws in other US states, and we give you the right to opt out of it.

What information is involved

When you opt out, you are opting out of the disclosure of the following categories of personal information to advertising and analytics partners for advertising purposes:

We disclose these categories to the following types of third parties for advertising purposes: social media and advertising platforms, advertising networks, analytics and measurement providers, and marketing and attribution technology providers acting on our behalf. The specific partners we work with are listed in our Privacy Policy and are also shown, by category, in our cookie preferences tool.

We do not sell or share the contents of your payment card details, government identification numbers, or account passwords, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

Personal information of minors

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. Our website and apps are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will delete it.

How to opt out

You can opt out in any of the following ways. You do not need an account with us, and you will not be asked to create one.

We will action opt-out requests within 15 business days of receipt, as required by the CCPA, and generally much sooner.

What an opt-out does and does not do

• Opt-outs are browser and device specific. An opt-out made through our cookie preferences tool is stored in your browser. If you clear your cookies, use a different browser, or use a different device, you will need to opt out again.
• You will still see advertising. Opting out means the ads you see from us are less likely to be based on your activity. It does not stop advertising altogether.
• Your shopping experience is unaffected. Essential cookies, order processing, fraud prevention, delivery and customer service are not affected by an opt-out.
• We may still disclose personal information for non-advertising purposes, such as to payment providers, delivery partners, fraud-prevention services and service providers acting on our instructions. Those disclosures are not a sale or share under the CCPA.

Authorised agents

You may use an authorised agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. We will ask the agent to provide written permission signed by you, and we may contact you directly to confirm that you gave that permission, unless the agent provides a valid power of attorney.

For an opt-out request we will not ask you to verify your identity. For requests to know, correct or delete your personal information, we will need to verify who you are before we act. See our Privacy Policy.

Your other privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit our use of sensitive personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about a privacy request. No discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you with a different level or quality of service because you opted out.

Residents of other US states

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia, among others, have a comparable right to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale of personal data. The methods described above apply equally to those requests, and we honour GPC signals from those states as well.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Appeal”. We will respond to appeals within the period required by your state’s law, and will tell you how to contact your state’s Attorney General if you remain dissatisfied.
